Ciao,
they combination of genes should be heploid means having two alleles. so each of the two alleles is given by each of the parents so they combine to form a new gene. this is actually proved by mendles law of segregatiin .which says thats alleles are separated during meiosis during gamete formation and again meet in the zygote.
