Answer:

Hey mate here is the answer ...

Step-by-step explanation:

In right triangle ,

let Base be x cm...

altitude =(x - 7)cm...

Hypotenuse = 13cm...

H²= B²+P²

13²= x²+(x-7)²..

SOLUTION ☺️

Let x be the base of triangle.

Then altitude of the triangle= x-7

Hypotenuse = 13cm (Given)

By Pythagoras Theorem

AB^2 = BC^2 + AC^2

=) 13^2 = x^2 + (x-7)^2

=) 169= x^2 + x^2 -14x+ 49

=) x^2 -7x -60=0

=) x^2 -12x +5x -60=0

=) x(x-12) +5(x-12) =0

=) (x-12) (x+5)= 0

x= 12 or x= -5

Since altitude can't be negative

therefore x= 12

Base = 12cm

Altitude of = 12-7 = 5cm

hope it helps ✔️
