Answer:

given :- altitude = 6 cm

base = ? & area = 108 cm^2

area of trangle = 1/2 × b × h

108 = 1/2 × b × 6

108 = b × 3

108/3 = b

b = 108/3

b = 36

base of a given trangle = 36 cm

base= 12

FORMULA.. area=1/2[base x height]
solution:
height = 6 + x
base = x

1/2[(x)(6+x)]=108
1/2[6x + x^2]=108
6X + x^2 = 216
x^2 + 6x -216=0
(x+18)(x-12)=0
x=(-18) or x=12

x = base
base = 12

Hope it helps you
