Amoeba is a eukaryote that has a single cell in its body and no distinct organs. However, this single body cell of amoeba contains several organelles, apart from the central nucleus.
These organelles behave like body organs of higher organisms and perform separate functions. For example, mitochondria generate cellular energy and golgi apparatus contribute in protein transfer.
The reproduction is carried out by the DNA fibres, while nucleus is the power centre of all cellular activities.
