The amount of heat energy required to convert 1 kg of ice at - 10 degree C to water at 100 degree celsius is 777000J.Calculate the specific latent heat of ice . Specific heat capacity of ice is 2100 J kg-1 K-1 ,specific heat capacity of water is equal to 4200 J kg-1 K-1.

777000=1kg*2100*(0-(-10)) +1kg*(latent heat) +1kg*4200*(100)

Latent heat=336000joule/kg
