let the amount of petrol in second tank be x

hence in the first tank,it will be 2x

account to the question

2x-25=x+25

x=50

the amount of petrol in second tank =50

50

Amount of Petrol in First Tank is 100 Litre

Amount of Petrol in Second Tank is 50 Litre

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Amount of petrol in first tank is twice of that in second tank

If 25 litre from first tank is taken out and added to second tank, then the amount of petrol in both the tanks will be the same.

Solution:

Let the amount of second tank be x

Thus, in the first tank amount of petrol will be 2x

Given 2x-25=x+25

x-25=25

x=25+25\\

x=50

Therefore, amount of petrol in first tank is 2x=2\times50=100 litre and in second tank is x=50 litre
