The ‘Angkor Vat’ temple is the largest religious monument ever built and is situated in Cambodia.

It measures 162.6 hectares or 402 acres. This was originally built for Hindu God, "Lord Vishnu". However, gradually transformed later into a Buddhist temple. It was designed to represent mount Meru, which is the home of gods as per Hindu Mythology. The temple is built in 12th century in a classical Khmer architecture. The Cambodia country later inherited this temple into their national flag and stood as the top touristic attraction in their country.
