The two positions where the the axis of this dipole crosses the surface are called the geomagnetic poles. These are located at 80.31°N and 80.31°S.

The geographical axis (or rotational axis) crosses the surface of the Earth, by definition of geographical latitude at 90°N and 90°S. Thus the angle between the magnetic dipole axis of the Earth and the geographic axis is thus 90°-80.31° = 9.69°

The angle between the earth's magnetic axis and geographic axis is 9.69^\circ.

Explanation:

  • The earth magnetic axis is meant as magnetic field of earth in the particular axis.
  • The geographic axis is meant as earth own axis in terms of surface of land. The angle between them is meant as 9.69 degree. It is very low.
  • Earth is surrounded by the magnetic lines of magnetic flux.
  • These flux are meant to create certain force on the earth surface. The other force is gravitational force.
