Step-by-step explanation:

let the angles be a, a+d and a+2d

given a = 40°

sum of angles of a ∆ is 180°

=> a+a+d+a+2d = 180

=> 3a + 3d = 180

=> 3(a+d) = 180

=> a + d = 180/3

=> a + d = 60°

=> 40 + d = 60°

=> d = 60 - 40

=> d = 20°

therefore angles are

=> 40° , 40°+20°, 40° + 2×20°

=> 40°, 60° and 80°
