Figure:-

Given:-

  • The angle of elevation of a tower is observed to be 45°
  • The distance from B to C = 120 m

To find:-

  • Find the height of the tower ?

Solutions:-

  • Let the height of the tower be 'h' m

According to question:-

We know that,

=> tan∅ = perpendicular/base

=> tan∅ = AB/BC

We have,

The angle of elevation of a tower is observed to be 45°

=> tan 45° = AB/BC

We know that,

The value of tan 45° is 1

=> 1 = h/120

=> h = 120 × 1

=> h = 120m

Hence, the height of the tower is 120m.
