The angle of elevation of the top of a tower from two

points on the ground at distances ‘a’ meters and

‘b’ metres from the base of the tower and in the same

straight line with it are complementary.

Prove that the height of the tower is ab metres.

Find : tan q in ∆ABD ........ (i)

tan(90 – q) in ∆ABC ........ (ii)

Get the desired result from (i) and (ii)
