Let x be horizontal distance between building and a cliff.
Then,
tan45° = h1/x
h1 = x.tan45°
h1 = x × 1
h1 = x
Also,
tan60° = h2/x
h2 = x.tan60°
h2 = x × 1.732
h2 = 1.732x
Subtracting,
h2 - h1 = 1.732x - x
24 = 0.732x
x = 24 / 0.732
x = 32.78 cm
Height of building is -
h2 = 1.732x
h2 = 1.732 × 32.78
h2 = 56.79 cm
Hence, the height of the cliff is 56.79 cm.
