Answer:

Refractive index of liquid = 1.224

Explanation:

According to Snell's law,

μ / μm = sin ((d+θ)/2) / sin (θ/2)

θ is the angle of prism.

d is angle of minimum deviation.

μ is refractive index of glass

μm is refractive index of medium

First scenario: In Air

d = 45°

θ = 75°

μm of air = 1

μ/1 = sin ((45°+75°)/2) / sin (75°/2)

μ = sin 60 ° / sin 37.5° = 1.42

Second scenario: In Liquid

d = 15°

μ / μm =  sin ((15°+75°)/2) / sin (75°/2)

μ / μm  = sin 45 ° / sin 37.5° = 1.16

μm  = 1.42 / 1.16 = 1.224
