The angle of reflection is the angle between the reflected ray and the normal.
- A ray is a part of a line which has only one fixed starting point and no end point. A ray extend infinitely in one direction.
- A ray of light when made to incident on a reflective surface. like a mirror, gets reflected back. The ray that approaches the reflective surface is known as the incident ray and the ray which gets reflected back is known as the reflected ray
- At the point of incidence on the reflective ray if we draw an imaginary line which is perpendicular to the surface, this line is known as the normal.
- The angle thus formed between the incident ray and the normal is known as the angle of incidence and the angle formed between the normal and the reflected ray is known as the angle of reflection.
