The angles of a triangle are 3x°, (2x+20)° and (5x-40)°. Find the angles. Hence show that the triangle is an equilateral triangle.

P.S it is better if you do the problem and post the picture in the answers.

Solution :-

We know that the sum of all three angles of a triangle always equals to 180 degrees.

⇒ (3x°) + (2x + 20)° + (5x - 40)° = 180°

⇒ 3x + 2x + 5x = 180° + 40° - 20°

⇒ 10x = 200°

⇒ x = 200/10

⇒ x = 20

Now, putting the value of x = 20

⇒ !st Angle = (3x)°

3*20 = 60°

2nd Angle = (2x + 20)°

⇒ (2*20) + 20

⇒ 40 + 20

⇒ 60°

3rd Angle = (5x - 40)°

⇒ (5*20) - 40

⇒ 100 - 40

⇒ 60°

So, the given triangle is an equilateral triangle because all the three angles are of 60°.

Hence proved.
