HI MATE

the value of x=

x-40+x-20+1/2x-10=180degree(total angle sum)

variables and terms on one side

-40+-20+-10

-40-20-10=-70

-70 shift to other side

180+70=250

x+x+1/2x= 2x+1/2

= (find LCM)= 5/2 x

5/2x=250

2*250/5=100degrees

therefore x= 100

when you apply 100 in the question and check you will get the final answer as 180.

hope i was clear

Angles of triangle is =(x-40)°,(x-20)°,(1/2x-10°)
We know that total Sum of Angles in triangle=180°

A/Q
(x-40)°+(x-20)°+(1/2x-10)°=180
x-40+x-20+1/2x-10=180
2x+1/2x-70=180
2x + \frac{1x}{2} - 70 = 180 \\ \frac{2x \times 2 + x}{2} = 180 + 70 \\ \frac{4x + x}{2 } = 250 \\ 5x = 250 \times 2 \\ 5x = 500 \\ x = \frac{500}{5} \\ x = 100
x=100°
