Answer:

v is velocity at a point then v is in the direction of tangent to the circular path at that point. When particle completes half the circle it reaches the diagonally opposite point where the direction of tangent is opposite. Hence, if we call velocity at first point as+v, it is-v at the other point. The difference or change =-v-(+v)=-2v.
