The annual range of temperature is 3°C along the Malabar coast and more than 20°C in the interiors. What is the geographical reason for it?

this is because the malabar coast is an area in southweastern india which comprises of many wetlands due to which they recieve heavy rainfall as they are surrounded by arabian sea.and they are thus windy and cold.but in the interior of it,it is mostly warm as there is no heavy rainfall due to which the temperature is little higher.
