Present ages of A and B will be (x+3) and (y+2+3).i.e(y+5) respectively.

After 4 years, their ages would be (x+3 +4). i.e (x+7).

Similarly, (y+2+3+4).i.e (y+9)

The sum will be :

=x+7+y+9

=x+y+16

Hence, option C.
