The apparent depth of an object at the bottom of a tank filled with a liquid of refractive index 1.3 is 7.7 cm. What is the actual depth of the liquid in the tank?

double check the answer I havent revised this chapter in forever

but I think

n1 / n2 = d2 / d1

1.33 / 1 = d2 / 7.7

d2 or actual depth = 7.7 x1.3 = 10

n1 refractive index liquid , d1 depth in this liquid

2 is the same quantities in air

again double check I dont remember optics completely
