It is a example of Natural selection (If particularly asked then Directional Selection).

This is an example of Industrial melanism, when the industrial pollution is increased the barks of trees turned darker which helped the dark colored moths better camouflaged themselves from predators so their numbers increased.. this is natural selection, survival of the fittest.
