Answer:

The area of rectangle is given by the product of its length and breadth.

Area=length×breadth

So inorder to double the area of rectangle you have to adjust its length or breadth or both.

Although there can be different possible way of adjusting its dimension. But i am showing you few techniques to double the area of rectangle.

Make the length double keeping its breadth same. New area = 2×length×breadth=2×old area

Make the breadth double keeping its length same. New area = length×2×breadth=2×old area

Increase the length 4 times and decrease the breadth to half. New area= 4×length×(1/2)×breadth= 2×length×breadth=2×old area
