Area of courtyard= 375 m²
height = 1cm =0.01m

Volume in this case
= area of courtyard×height

= 375 × 0.01 m

= 3.75 m³

cost per m³ = rs 6.40

cost for 3.75 m³ = 3.75 × 6.40

= Rs24

Anonymous: is it correct??
manasalmora: OK no problem
manasalmora: and thanks for solution
Anonymous: if the desired amswer was 240, then you have to type 3750 instead of 375 .

Step-by-step explanation:

As we know that 1 cm= 0.01 m

Given that

The area of the courtyard is 375 m square

Height=1 cm

Gravel cost is Rs 6.40 per cubic meter

Height=0.01 m

Volume of the gravel = area × height

V= 375 × 0.01 = 3.75 m3

And also given that

The cost of covering it the gravel to a height of 1cm if the gravel costs Rupees 6.40 per cubic meter

Therefore, the cost is 3.75 × 6.40 = Rs 24
