Given :- The area of a parallelogram ABCD is A sq cm. If the distance between AB and DC is d1 cm and the distance between BC and AD is d2 cm, then the perimeter of the parallelogram is ?

Solution :-

we know that,

  • Area of Parallelogram = Base * Height .
  • Opposite side of Parallelogram are equal.
  • Perimeter of Parallelogram = 2(Sum of adjacent sides) .

Distance between Parallel lines AB and DC is = d1 cm.

So,

→ Area of Parallelogram = AB * d1

→ A = AB * d1

→ AB = (A/d1) cm.

similarly, Distance between Parallel lines BC and AD is = d2 cm .

So,

→ Area of Parallelogram = BC * d2

→ A = BC * d2

→ BC = (A/d2) cm.

Therefore,

→ Perimeter of Parallelogram = 2(AB + BC) = 2{(A/d1) + (A/d2)} = 2A{(1/d1) + (1/d2)} cm. (Ans.)
