Appropriate Question :

  • The area of a parallelogram is 12¼cm². If it's height is 1 6/7cm.then it's base

Answer :

  • Base of parallelogram is 6.596 cm

Given :

  • The area of a parallelogram is 12 ¼cm²
  • Height is 1 6/7 cm

To find :

  • Base

Solution :

To find the base we have to use the formula of area of parallelogram

  • Let the base be b
  • Height of parallelogram is 1 6/7cm

• Height of parallelogram = 1 6/7

• Height of parallelogram = 13/7cm

Height of parallelogram is 13/7cm

  • Area of parallelogram = 12 ¼ cm²

• Area of parallelogram = 12 ¼ cm²

• Area of parallelogram = 49/4 cm²

Area of parallelogram is 49/4 cm²

Finding the base of parallelogram :

As we know that,

  • Area of parallelogram = b × h

Where ,

  • b is base
  • h is height

➟ Area of parallelogram = b × h

➟ 49/4 = b × 13/7

➟ b = 49 × 7/13 × 4

➟ b = 343/52

➟ b = 6.596 cm

Hence, Base of parallelogram is 6.596 cm
