Given:

Area of a parallelogram is 338 metre².

Its attitude is twice the corresponding base.

Find:

The base and altitude of the Parallelogram

Solution:

Let the base of the Parallelogram be 'b' m.

Let the height of the Parallelogram be 'h' m.

If its attitude is twice the corresponding base.

=> h = 2b .......(i).

We know that,

The area of parallelogram = base × height

Putting the value of h from equation (i).

=> 338 = b × h

=> 338 = b × 2b

=> 338 = 2b²

=> 338/2 = b²

=> 169 = b²

=> √169 = b

=> 13 = b

=> b = 13m

Put the value of 'b' in equation (i).

=> h = 2b

=> h = 2 × 13

=> h = 26m

Hence, the height of the Parallelogram is 26 m and base of parallelogram is 13m.

I hope it will help you.

Regards.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let base be a

So Altitude be 2a

Area of Parallelogram = Base×Altitude

338 = 2a \times a

338 = 2a^{2}

338 \div 2 = {a}^{2}

169 =  {a}^{2}

 \sqrt{169 }  = a

a = 13

So altitude = 2a = 2×13 = 26
