from the vertices as DQ and BP which are 8m and 10m respectively as shown in the attached file.

Now the area of a quadrilateral can be written as 1/2 * diagonal on which the prependiculars are * the sum of the prependiculars  

therefore, the area of the quad. ABCD = 1/2*AC*(BP+DQ)

                                                                =1/2*AC*(10+8)=360 [GIVEN AREA OF                                        

                                                                                             QUAD. = 360 m^2]

                                                                  =1/2*AC*(18)=360

                                                                  =AC*(9)=360

                                                => AC= 360/9 = 40

THEREFORE, AC= 40m     Ans
