note: it is not possible to have an ares of 120m² here because the perimeter is 46 cm . so, assume area is 120 cm².
Perimeter= 2(l+b)=46 cm
l+b=23cm
l=23cm-b --- 1.
lb=120 cm² plugging in 1. into this equation we get
(23-b)b=120
-b²+23-120=0
solving using the quadratic formula we get,
b=15cm
l =23-15 cm=8cm
By Pythagoras' theorem,
l²+b²=diagonal²
8²+15² =d²
⇒289=d²
⇒d=17
Hence, the length of its diagonal is 17 cm.
THAT'S IT!
