Answer:

New

length=I+2, breadth=b+2

Area =1xb

New area-=(I+2)(b+2)

= lb +2b+2 I+4

increase = Ib+2b+2l+4-lb = 2(I +b+2)

2(I +b+2)=38

I+b+2=19

I+b=17

length increased by 3 units

length=I+3

area=(I +3) b = Ib+18

Ib+3b=Ib+18

3b = 18

b = 6

I+b=17

I=11

I=11 units, b = 6 units
