SOLUTION

GIVEN

  • The area of a rectangle is 112 cm²

  • The breadth of the rectangle is 7 cm

TO DETERMINE

The length and the perimeter.

EVALUATION

Here it is given that the area of a rectangle = A = 112 cm²

Now the breadth of the rectangle is = B = 7 cm

Let the length = L cm

So by the given condition

L × B = A

 \sf{ \implies \: L \times 7 = 112}

 \sf{ \implies \: L  = 16}

Hence the required length = 16 cm

Now the perimeter

= 2 × ( L + B )

= 2 × ( 16 + 7 ) cm

= 2 × 23 cm

= 46 cm
