Given

  • The area of a rectangle, A = 191(1/6) m²
  • Length of the rectangle, l = 15(1/2) m

To Find

The perimeter of the rectangle.

Solution

We know,

♣ Area of a rectangle = Length × Breadth

⇒ 191(1/6) = 15(1/2) × b

⇒ (191 × 6 + 1)/6 = (15 × 2 + 1)/2 × b

⇒ 1147/6 = 31/2 × b

⇒ 1147/6 ÷ 31/2 = b

⇒ b = 1147/6 × 2/31

⇒ b = (1147 × 2)/(6 × 31)

⇒ b = 2294/186

⇒ b = 12(1/3) m

We also know that,

♣ Perimeter of a rectangle, P = 2(l + b)

Substituting the values :-

P = 2[ 15(1/2) + 12(1/3) ]

⇒ P = 2(167/6)

⇒ P = 167/3

⇒ P = 55(2/3) m

Therefore, the perimeter of the rectangle is 55(2/3) m.
