Given :-

The area of a rectangle = 240 m²

Length of the rectangle = 16 m

To Find :-

The breadth of the rectangle.

Analysis :-

Consider the breadth of the rectangle as a variable.

Substitute the given values in the formula of area of rectangle.

Then find the value of the variable accordingly.

Solution :-

We know that,

  • l = Length
  • b = Breadth
  • a = Area

Let the breadth be 'x'.

By the formula,

\underline{\boxed{\sf Area \ of \ the \ rectangle=Length \times Breadth}}

Given that,

Area (a) = 240 m²

Breadth (b) = 16 m

Substituting their values,

240 = 16 × x

x = 240/16

x = 15

Therefore, the breadth of the rectangle is 15 m.
