Then , length = ( X + 8 ) cm

Now , area = 240cm^2

length × breadth = 240

( X + 8 ) X = 240

X^2+8x-240 = 0

X^2 + 20x - 12X - 240 = 0

( X + 20 ) ( X - 12 ) = 0

X = 12 or X = - 20
