Given ☆

• Area of the Rectangle = 42 cm

• Breadth of the Rectangle = 6 cm

To Find

• The Perimeter of the Rectangle

Formula Used

• Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 × ( Length + Breadth )

• Length of the Rectangle = Area ÷ Breadth

Solution

To find the Perimeter of the Rectangle, first of all we need to find the Length of the Rectangle, and then using the Formula Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 × ( Length + Breadth ) we will find out the Perimeter of the Rectangle, so let's do it!

Length of the Rectangle = Area ÷ Breadth

Length of the Rectangle = 42 ÷ 6

Length of the Rectangle = 7 cm

Now, we have the Length of the Rectangle, let's find out the Perimeter of the Rectangle then!

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 × ( Length + Breadth )

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 × ( 7 + 6 )

Perimeter of the Rectangle = 2 × 13

Perimeter of the Rectangle = 26 cm

Perimeter of the Rectangle is 26 cm

Perimeter of Square = 4 × side

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 × ( Length + Breadth )

Perimeter of Triangle = Sum of all sides

Area of Square = side × side

Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth

Volume of Cube = side × side × side

Volume of Cuboid = Length × Breadth × Height

Note : We can also write the formula Area of Square = side × side as Area of Square = ( side )² and Volume of Cube = side × side × side as Volume of Cube = ( side )³

Correct Question:

The area of a rectangle is 42 cm². If breadth of the rectangle is 6cm. What is the perimeter of rectangle?

To find:

  • perimeter of rectangle

Given:

  • Area of rectangle = 42 cm²

  • breadth of rectangle = 6cm

Let :

  • Length of rectangle = x

Solution:

We know:

 \big \checkmark \boxed{ \rm{perimeter \: of \: rectangle = 2(length + breadth)}}

Now as we can see to find perimeter we should know value of length

So first let's find length:

We know

 \big \checkmark \boxed{ \rm{Area \: of \: rectangle =length\times  breadth)}}

Yep by using this formula we can find value of length of Rectangle

 \dashrightarrow\sf{}Area \: of \: rectangle =length\times  breadth) \\  \\  \dashrightarrow \: \sf{}42=x\times 6 \\  \\  \dashrightarrow \sf{} \dfrac{42}{6}  = x \\  \\  \dashrightarrow  \sf x =  \dfrac{42}{6}  \\  \\ \dashrightarrow  \sf x = \cancel \dfrac{42}{6}  \\  \\  \dashrightarrow\underline{\boxed{ \sf{}x = 7}}

.°. value of length of Rectangle = 7 cm

Bow let's find value of Perimeter my using formula as mentioned above

 \dashrightarrow \sf{}perimeter \: of \: rectangle = 2(length + breadth) \\  \\  \dashrightarrow \sf{}perimeter \: of \: rectangle =2( 7 + 6) \\  \\ \dashrightarrow \sf{}perimeter \: of \: rectangle =(2 \times 7) + (2 \times 6) \\  \\ \dashrightarrow \sf{}perimeter \: of \: rectangle =14 + (2 \times 6) \\  \\ \dashrightarrow \sf{}perimeter \: of \: rectangle =14 + 12 \\  \\ \dashrightarrow  \underline{\boxed{\sf{}perimeter \: of \: rectangle =26 \: cm}}

 \therefore

 \underline{ \sf{}value \: of \: perimeter \: of \: reangle = 26cm}
