Given : The area of a rectangle is 5x² + 35x + 60 unit squares.

Breadth is 5(x+3) unit.

To find : The length.

Solution :

Area of a rectangle , A = 5x² + 35x + 60 unit squares.

Breadth,B = 5(x + 3) unit.

Area of a rectangle , A = Length × Breadth

A = L × B

5x² + 35x + 60 = L × 5(x+3)

5(x² + 7x + 12) = L × 5(x+3)

L = 5(x² + 7x + 12)/5(x+3)

L = (x² + 7x + 12)/(x+3)

L = (x² + 4x + 3x + 12)/(x+3)

[By middle term splitting method]

L = x(x + 4) + 3(x + 4)/(x+3)

L = (x + 3) (x + 4)/(x+3)

L = x + 4

Hence, the length of a rectangle is (x + 4) unit.
