Answer:

96/8 = 12

L = 12 cm

B = 8 cm

perimeter = 2(L+B)

2(12+8)cm

2(20)cm

40cm

Given:-

  • The area of the rectangle is 96 cm².
  • Breadth of the rectangle is 8 cm.

To find:-

  • Length and perimeter of the rectangle.

Solution:-

Firstly,

  • find out the length of the rectangle.

Formula used:-

{\dag}\:{\underline{\boxed{\sf{\purple{Area\: of\: rectangle = length \times breadth}}}}}

\tt\longmapsto{96 = l \times b}

\tt\longmapsto{96 = l \times 8}

\tt\longmapsto{l = \dfrac{96}{8}}

\tt\longmapsto{\boxed{\red{l = 12\: cm}}}

Hence,

  • the length of the rectangle is 12 cm.

Then,

  • find out the perimeter of the rectangle.

Formula used:-

{\dag}\:{\underline{\boxed{\sf{\purple{Perimeter\: of\: rectangle = 2(length + breadth)}}}}}

\tt\longmapsto{2(l + b)}

\tt\longmapsto{2(12 + 8)}

\tt\longmapsto{2(20)}

\tt\longmapsto{\boxed{\orange{40\: cm}}}

Hence,

  • the perimeter of the rectangle is 40 cm.
