Given :

  • The area of a rectangle is same as area of a square.
  • The length of rectangle = 80 cm.
  • The breadth of rectangle = 20 cm.

To Find :

  • The side of square.

Solution :

According to the question -

  • Area of rectangle = Area of square

\longrightarrow Length × Breadth = (Side)²

\longrightarrow 80 × 20 = (side)²

\longrightarrow 1600 = (side)²

\longrightarrow √(1600) = Side

\longrightarrow Side = √(40 × 40)

\longrightarrow Side = 40

  • Hence, the side of the square = 40 cm.

Verification :

  • Area of rectangle = Area of square

\longrightarrow Length × Breadth = (Side)²

\longrightarrow 80 cm × 20 cm = (40 cm)²

\longrightarrow 1600 cm² = 1600 cm²

⠀⠀ LHS = RHS

Hence Verified !
