Given:

Area of a rectangle is (x²+11x+28) sq. units.

One side is (x+4) units.

To Find:

Other side of the rectangle.

Solution:

The area of the rectangle :

= Length × breadth

= (x²+11x+28)

as it is a quadratic equation,

by using factorization split it into two parts

=  (x²+11x+28)

=  x²+7x+4x+28

= x(x+7) + 4(x+7)

= (x+7). (x+4)

compare it with length × breadth

= (x+7). (x+4)

Hence, the other side will be ( x+7).
