  • Answer:

side =  -7/3

Step-by-step explanation

let a number x

area = length x breadth

when the length increased by 7m, it becomes x+7

when the breadth decreased by 3m, it becomes x-3

then, area = (x+7)(x-3)

when the length decreased by 7m, it becomes x-7

when the breadth increased by 5m, it becomes x+5

then, area = (x-7)(x+5)

area of both are equal....

so,  (x+7)(x-3) = (x-7)(x+5)

 x²-3x+7x-21 = x²+5x-7x-35

equal terms on both sides cancels, ie,x²

    -3+7b-21 = +5l-7b-35

-3l-5l+7b+7b = -35+21

    -8l+14b    = -14

    -4l+7b     = -7

     4l-7b      = 7

     -3x+7x-21 = 5x-7x-35

        4x-21   = -2x-35

        4x+2x  = -35+21

           6x     = -14

             x     = -14/6

                    = -7/3

when I used two numbers ,no answer was got. hence used one number. and so iam not sure .....
