Answer:

Area of rectangle = 135 cm²

Let, breadth = x cm

So, length = x+6 cm

Formula for area of rectangle

= Length × Breadth

hence,

(x)(x+6) = 135

x²+6x=135

x²+6x-135 = 0

x²-9x+15x-135 = 0

x(x-9)+15(x-9) = 0

(x-9)(x+15)=0

hence,

x-9=0............. x=9

OR

x+15=0........... x=-15

measurements are not negative

hence,

x=9

So,

breadth = 9 cm

length = 15 cm

  • The area of a rectangle with length 6 more than its breadth.

  • The area of rectangle is 135 cm².

\mathtt{\large{\bf{\underline{\green{To\:Find :-}}}}}

  • The length of the rectangle.

  • The breadth of the rectangle.

\mathtt{\large{\bf{\underline{\orange{Solution :-}}}}}

We have,

The area of rectangle is 135 cm².

Let the breadth of the rectangle be x,

& The length of the rectangle be ( x + 6 )

We know that , The Area of rectangle is length × breadth .

Area of rectangle = l × b

➝ 135 = x × (x+6)

➝ 135 = x² + 6

➝ 135 - 6 = x²

➝ 129 = x²

➝ √ 129 = x

x 11.4

We considered,

The breadth of the rectangle x , x 11.4

& The length of the rectangle ( x + 6 ) , x ≈ 11.4+6

x ≈ 17.6
