area=l×b
l×b=3000 sq m
6x×5x=3000sq m
30x=3000
x=3000/30
x=100
length=6x=6×100=600
breadth =5x=5×100=500
perimeter=2 (l+b)
2 (600+500)
2×1100
2200 sq m

The perimeter of the courtyard is 220 metres.

Given : The area of a rectangular courtyard is 3000 square metre. Its sides are in the ratio 6:5.

To find : The perimeter of the courtyard.

Solution :

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process. (our goal is to calculate the perimeter of the courtyard)

Let, the length and breadth of the courtyard = 6x metres and 5x metres

(Obtained from the ratio 6:5)

Now, the area of a rectangle = Length × Breadth

So,

Area of the rectangular courtyard = 6x × 5x = 30x² sq. metres

According to the data mentioned in the question,

30x² = 3000

x² = 3000/30

x² = 100

x = 10

Length of the courtyard = 6x = 6 × 10 = 60 metres

Breadth of the courtyard = 5x = 5 × 10 = 50 metres

Now, the perimeter of a rectangle = 2 × (Length + Breadth)

So, the perimeter of the rectangular courtyard = 2 × (60+50) = 220 metres

(This will be considered as the final result.)

Hence, the perimeter of the courtyard is 220 metres.
