Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

the area of a rectangular field is 0.5 hectares. and one of the sides of the field is 40 m.

To find:-

find the other side of the rectangular field?

Solution:-

Given that

The one side of the rectangular field = 40 m

Let the other side of the rectangular field be X m

Area of a rectangle = length×breadth sq.units

=>Area of the rectangular field

=>40×X sq.m

=>40X sq.m

Area of the rectangular field = 40X sq.m

According to the given problem

Area of the rectangular field = 0.5 hectares

We know that

1 hectare = 10000 sq.m

0.5 hectares = 0.5×10000 sq.m

0.5 hectares = 5000 sq.m

Now,

40 X = 5000

=>X= 5000/40

=>X=500/4

=>X=125 m

The value of X = 125 m

The other side = 125 m

Answer:-

The another side of the given rectangular side is 125 m

Check:-

The two sides of the rectangular field are

40 m and 125m

Area of the rectangular field

= 40×125

=>5000 sq.m

We know that 10000 sq.m = 1 hectare

=>1 sq.m = 1/10000 hectares

=>5000 sq.m = 5000/10000 hectares

=>5/10 hectares

=>0.5 hectares

Verified the given relation.

Used formulae:-

  • Area of a rectangle = Length ×Breadth
  • 1 hectare = 10000 sq.m
  • 1 sq.m = 1/10000 = 0.0001 hectares
