The area of a rectangular garden of length 40m, 1000sqm. Find the breadth of the garden and its perimeter. The garden is to be enclosed by 3 rounds of fencing, leaving an entrance of 4m. Find the cost of fencing the garden at a rate of 250 rupees per metre.

Given:

Iength = 40m

Area = 1000m^2

Area of rectangle = Ib

» 40b = 1000

or, breadth = 25m

perimeter of rectangle = 2(I +b)

or, Perimeter = 2(25+40) =

or, 2*65 = 130m

length of fence = 3x perimeter - 3x length of entrance

= 3* 130 - 3*4

or, 390 - 12

or, 378m

cost of fencing= 250 per metre

Therefore, total cost = 378*250 = 94500 Rupees
