Given :-

  • The area of a rectangular park is 255 1/4 square metre. If its length is 25 1/2 metres.

To find :-

  • Breadth

Solution :-

  • Area of rectangular park = 255 ¼ m²

  • Length of rectangular park = 25 ½ m

As we know that

Area of rectangle = l × b

Where " l " is length and " b " is breadth

Now, length and area of rectangular park are given in fixed fraction

  • Length = 25 ½ = 51/2m

  • Area = 225 ¼ = 901/4 m²

According to the given condition

→ Area of rectangular park = 901/4

→ l × b = 901/4

→ l × 51/2 = 901/4

→ l = 901/4 ÷ 51/2

→ l = 901/4 × 2/51

→ l = 901/51 × 2

→ l = 901/102

→ l = 8.83 m

Hence,

  • Length of rectangular park = 8.83m

Question

The area of a rectangular park is 255¼ square metre. If its length is 25½ metres. Find its breadth.

Solution

Area of rectangular park = 255¼ m²

Length = 25½ m²

Let, it's breadth be x

ATP

l \times b \:  =  \frac{1021}{4}  \\  = ) \:  \frac{51}{2} \times x =  \frac{1021}{4}  \\  = ) \: x =  \frac{1021}{4}  \times  \frac{2}{51}   \\  = ) \: x =  \frac{1021}{102}  = 10 \frac{1}{102}

Ans:- Breadth = 10 1/102 m.
