Given: The area of a rectangle is 96cm. and the breath of the rectangle is 8cm.

We have to find the length and perimeter of the rectangle.

As we know that the area of a rectangle is calculated by a formula:

Area = length x breadth

And perimeter is calculated by a formula:

Perimeter = 2(length+breadth)

We are solving in the following way:

We have,

The area of a rectangle is 96cm. and the breath of the rectangle is 8cm.

Let assume the length of the rectangle be'x'.

So, the length of the rectangle will be:

\Rightarrow A=l\times b\\\Rightarrow 96=x\times 8\\\\\Rightarrow x=\frac{96}{8} \\\\\Rightarrow x=12

Hence, the length of the rectangle is12cm.

So, the perimeter of the rectangle will be:

Perimeter = 2(length+breadth)

\Rightarrow P=2(12+8)\\\Rightarrow P=2(20)\\\Rightarrow P=40

Hence, the perimeter of the rectangle will be 40cm.and length will be12cm.

  • As per the data given in the question, we have to determine the length and perimeter of a rectangle.

        Given data:- Area=96cm.

                              Breadth=8cm.

        To find:- The length and perimeter.

        Solution:-

  • The Rectangle has four sides.
  • The opposite side of rectangle are parallel to each other.
  • The sum of all interior angle is 360 degree.
  • The perimeter of rectangle is 2(length+\ breadth).

        Therefore,

      \Rightarrow l\times b=96\\\Rightarrow l\times8=96\\\Rightarrow l=\frac{96}{8}\\\Rightarrow l=12cm.

   So, the Perimeter of Rectangle is

        =2(l+b)\\=2(12+8)\\=2\times20\\=40cm.

 Hence, the value will be 40cm.
