area \:  \: of \:  \: right \:  \: triangle \:  \:  =  \frac{1}{2}  \times b \times h

 6=  \frac{1}{2}  \times 3 \times h

6 \times 2 = 3h

12 = 3h

h = 4cm

By Pythagoras Theorem,

 {a}^{2}  +  {b}^{2}  =  {c}^{2}

 {3}^{2}  +  {b}^{2}  =  {4}^{2}

9 +  {b}^{2}  = 16

 {b}^{2}  = 16 - 9

 {b}^{2}  = 7

b = 7cm
