Given that: In a right-angled triangle hypotenuse is 13cm and perpendicular height is 5cm

Need to find: Area of that right-angled triangle

Must know:

  • According to Pythagoras theorem, h² = p² + b²

Where,

h is hypotenuse ( 13 cm )

p is perpendicular height ( 5 cm )

b is base

  • Area of a triangle = 1/2 × base × height

Solution:

Finding base-

→ 13² = 5² + b²

→ 169 = 25 + b²

→ b² = 169 - 25

→ b²= 144

→ b = √144

→ b = 12cm

Finding Area-

→ 1/2 × 12 × 5

→ 6cm × 5cm

→ 30 cm²

_______________

  • Henceforth, the Area of the right-angled triangle is 30 cm²
