The area of a right triangular plot is 355.2 m². If one of the sides containing the ries
angle is 29.6 m, find the other side.
trenerium is 78 cm2. If the two parallel sides are 12 cm and 8 cm, find other side

1)Let the length of the other side be h cm. Then, area of the triangle = (1/2) × base × height 129.5 = (1/2) × 14.8 × h 129.5 = 1 × 7.4 × h 129.5 = 7.4h h = 129.5/7.4 h = 17.5 cm Hence, the length of the other side is 17.5

2) Area formula for a trapezium (a.k.a trapezoid):

A=b1+b22h

Where A is the total area, b1 and b2 are the parallell sides of the trapezoid, and h is the height of the trapezoid. And we want to know what? Right, the height, or h . So, let’s rewrite the formula:

A=b1+b22h

2A=(b1+b2)h

2Ab1+b2=h

Now let us look at what is known:

A=30

Finally, insert the numbers:

2⋅304+8=6012=5

Answer: h=5

There you go. Everything you need to solve your particular problem. Now solve it! :)
