Given

  • The radius of a circle, r = 8 cm
  • Central angle, θ = 90°

To Find

The area of the sector.

Solution

We know,

\boxed{\bf{Area\ of\ sector=\frac{\theta}{360^\circ}\times \pi r^2 }}

Substituting the values :-

\sf{\longrightarrow Area= \dfrac{90^\circ}{360^\circ} \times \dfrac{22}{7}\times (8)^2}

\sf{\longrightarrow Area= \dfrac{1}{40}\times \dfrac{22}{7}\times 64  }

\sf{\longrightarrow Area= \dfrac{1}{20}\times \dfrac{11}{7}\times 64  }

\sf{\longrightarrow Area= \dfrac{704}{140} }

\sf{\longrightarrow Area= 5.028\ cm^2}

\bf{\longrightarrow Area= 5.03\ cm^2}
