given perimeter of square = perimeter of rectangle

so,perimeter of rectangle is 2(length of rectangle +breadth of rectangle)

let breadth =x

then length is two times the breadth =2×x

so ,2(x+2x)=288

2(3x)=288

6x=288

x=288/6

x=48

Now breadth =x=48m

length =2x=2×48=96

area of rectangle = length ×breadth

=96×48=4608

Hence the area of rectangle is 4608 sq m
